My turn =)
It was my turn to lead devotions this morning, about rest and our family on vacation.
When Joshua led the Israelites to take Jericho down, they marched around the city once for six days and then seven times on the seventh day. Needless to say they obviously didn't observe the sabbath rest that week, but they were doing what God had asked them to- they were doing His work. It wasn't wrong to skip the day of rest, but God later asked them to take a day of rest afterward. They ignored Him and fell into sin because they weren't in tune with God and what He wanted them to do... they had been listening to themselves for too long.
Now read the passage :-)
Hebrews 4:8-11
8For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. 9There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. 11Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.
We all need to take a time to rest in God.... not sleep especially, but remain in God's rest. It's a different kind of rest where you just take the time to listen to Him, rekindle the relationship, and rejuvenate your passion for what you're doing.
That's where it's like my family. We spend every 'sabbath' doing what God has asked us to do, which isn't wrong, but then we need to take some time afterward to renew ourselves and rest in God so that we have peace in what we are doing.

Lightning
So... it's pouring.... and continuous lighting.... and thunder.... and big sleet.... and we're all in our swimsuits in the house watching everyone run for their cars a block away =)
Yeah, so I'm getting pretty tan and I've been boarding and reading and hanging out. But for the last two days we've had bigger lightning storms than I've ever seen. There's hardly ever a silence in the thunder at all, it's like a continuous rumble :-P haha
another update soon =)

Talking to yourself
Quote that made me laugh- it points out self-understanding, confidence and knowledge of your own motives, versus insanity.... how close we all are in that.
"Its okay to talk to yourself; its even okay to answer yourself; but if you find yourself saying 'huh?' or 'What did you say?' look out"
-Richard Carroll Sheehan
If we all actually took the time away from the hecticity of our lives to talk to ourselves, we might find out who we really are.
Maybe that's why so many fear to take the time or thought to go that deep into themselves: they either don't want to know or fear becoming lost in it. They fear finding that the depths of who they are isn't filling out the frame of the person God created them to be. Or they know that if they go in, they may not come out, either for shame in their motives or comfort in the constancy that is our souls.
What do you think?

What came first....
I got the best answer I've ever heard today:
Aubs, "Case, which came first, the chicken or the egg?"
Case, "The Chicken because it had to lay the egg."
Aubs, "But how did the chicken get there if it didn't hatch?"
Case, "God poofed it up."
Yeah, simple as that. No hesitation @ all :-) I love that kid. He makes me smile =)
Quick update:
-Saturday was the parade and I finally got on Facebook again after about 2 months :-P
-Yesterday I bought my swimsuit for FL, (not a bikini but absolutely adorable, Juicy Couture Beach Chiffon Halter Swimdress ) drove to N-berg to drop off a Bday present, and got all my class stuff in by 12am

-Tomorrow is state inspection day at work and I'm going to drop stuff off at GFU before FL
-Wednesday is my last day at work
-Wednesday night we fly out for FL @ 10:40 or something and fly all night =)
-Thursday we'll hang out all day at the Florida Mall and spend the night at the All-Star Music Resort at Disney, (but we aren't doing the theme park thing again)
-Friday we head due east to Cocoa Beach for 2 weeks of surfing, music, sand, NASA, and a little shopping with hw here and there ;)
Yep, that's all for now. I'm tired. Talk to people in real life someday soon :-P haha

Why I'm glad I get to skip town next week...
My companion attacks his friends; he violates his covenant.
Psalm 55:20
Where is there dignity unless there is honesty?
Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC)
I have no time to deal with others' manipulation and deceit. They have no place in my life or among my friends, so if you count yourselves among them stay honest please =)
(my plan :-) )
Never explain--your friends do not need it and your enemies will not believe you anyway.
